15” incised "E 4 D" This utterly fascinating young
cyclist, is most unusual to say the least. He stands on a wood
base, with his bicycle equipped with his canteen, ready to take
off. He is a bit of a dandy, extremely handsome, and quite
elegantly dressed in his silk jacket and elegant britches and
lace cuffs, so destination is unknown. His face is so
beautifully modeled, the features so artfully painted, he must
have stopped at the Parisian mailbox, to send his love a letter,
his lower arms are bisque with fingers in excellent condition,
and the beautifully modeled straw hat is bisque.

27 " Hertel and Schwab bent leg baby, whose bisque
and modeling are of the highest quality. Her Coloring and the
painting of her features are truly exceptional. Her Christening
clothes, as you can see, are very beautiful. Having said that,
however, she does have a flaw. The finish on her hands as well
as one thigh are mottled. I don't know where she has been that
caused it, as the rest of her is fine. If she were mine, with
that head and those clothes, I would do as the museums do
nothing at all. Having said that, this leaves the possibility of
a real bargain, for a do it yourselfer that's up to the
challenge. You can buy her for $400 and use layaway if you need
to.
